MELTING LANDSCAPES
"Melting Landscapes" project shows us from a visual angle how global warming affects the cryosphere, which is the planetary thermostat that regulates the Earth's climate. An imposing universe that also conceals an acutely fragile equilibrium.
The photographs constitute a narrative series that begins with ice landscapes formed in a time immemorial, that like time capsules, walk silently towards the fading; there at the limits of the visible. An atmosphere in which the calm and tension of transformation are exchanged.
To slow global warming will require a radical transformation in the way we produce, distribute and consume energy. A profound change in our way of thinking.
Two degrees Centigrade. A two-degree difference with respect to the average pre-industrial temperature is what safeguards the Earth from a point of no return. We have already increased the global temperature by 1 degree.
The greatest challenge to our future is climate change, an ecological crisis based on a political crisisthat will reconfigure the destiny of human on Earth.
